Outbound Station is applying to add a site-specific exemption to approximately 0.2 ha of a 5 ha property currently zoned Rural Resource 3. The application also proposes to change the Official Community Plan (OCP) designation for this portion of the property from Open Space to Tourist Commercial.
The area affected includes the existing café, restaurant, parking, and washroom buildings. These uses have operated under a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) since 2021 and are authorized until September 27, 2027.
No expansion of the existing development is proposed. Instead, the application seeks to formally permit the uses that are already operating under the Temporary Use Permit.
The proposed zoning and OCP amendments would create a long-term land use framework for the portion of the property currently in use. The remainder of the property would keep its existing zoning and OCP designation.
This application will be considered by the SLRD Board of Directors for first reading on March 25, 2026.
